MEET OUR SPEAKERS

Carol-Ann Nelson, PT, DPT

Carol-Ann founded Destination Rehab (501c3) in 2016 to address the isolation and lack of outdoor recreation for adults with neurologic conditions. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Duke University before moving to Florida where she worked as a Physical Therapist in a Neuro specialty center (Brooks Rehabilitation).

She sees patients with a variety of complex neurologic conditions including spinal cord injury, stroke, Parkinson's, brain injury, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Carol-Ann is a licensed physical therapist in Oregon, MS Certified Specialist, and was Vice President of APTA Oregon from 2018-2021.

Rebecca Bliss, PT, DPT

Rebecca earned her Doctorate in Physical therapy from Drexel University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Florida State University. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Rebecca performed with dance companies in New York City. Currently, she works at Fyzical Therapy and Balance in Durham, NC where her clinical interests include rehabilitation of post-concussion syndrome, chronic stroke, and treatment of movement disorders with a focus on Parkinson’s Disease.

She is a faculty member at the American Dance Festival where she combines her lifelong love of movement and passion for helping others to teach community dance classes for people with Parkinson’s Disease through the Parkinson’s Movement Initiative.

Sarrisa Curry, Founder

Sarrisa is a NASM-certified Personal Trainer, Rock Steady Certified Trainer, PWR!Moves Certified Trainer, and Group Fitness Instructor. Her work with people with Parkinson’s Disease began in 2015, and inspired her to co-found Rock Steady Kansas City in 2015. She now serves as the President and Head Coach of the Parkinson’s Exercise and Wellness Center. In 2019, she also became an ambassador for the national Parkinson's Foundation "Aware in Care" hospital safety kit.

Tiffany Piquilloud, PT, MSPT, NCS

Tiffany received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991 and a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in 1993.

She currently serves as the Executive Director and Senior Physical Therapist at Challenge Center, a unique non-profit organization that provides exceptional neuro-rehabilitation to seniors and people with disabilities on a sliding scale after their insurance coverage has ended; and continues with specialized assisted fitness services that maintain health and function to keep people healthy, happy and living their best lives.
