Hi, I’m Emily!
I’ve been a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since 2005, and am a Certified PWR!Moves Instructor (Parkinson’s-specific rehabilitation exercise). I was the owner and lead trainer for Recreation Fitness for 13 years, a fitness company based in Long Beach, CA specializing in working with clients who have chronic or neurologic conditions. I firmly believe that therapeutic exercise can and should be fun, and my playful approach to fitness helps my clients enjoy their workouts was much as the end results.
I was honored to be named the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council. I’m a proud alumnus of the Leadership Long Beach Institute (Class of 2016), and was a 2019 honoree in Mayor Robert Garcia’s Long Beach Business Awards for my business leadership and commitment to the city.
I closed Recreation Fitness in 2021 to redirect my time and energy back to teaching and training clients, and to mentor other entrepreneurs as they start or grow their own businesses. A lifelong learner, I absolutely love sharing the many lessons I've learned throughout my years in business, and helping others surprise themselves with what they can accomplish.
