DED WORKSHOP SCHEDULES
Day 1: Friday, October 17, 2025
Hands-On Falls Training (4.0 Contact Hours)
Optional Morning Session (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Kick off the weekend with an inviting outdoor experience! Incorporate restorative activities and a little vitamin sea to kick off the weekend.
- Activities centered around breathing, meditation, with use of activator poles.
- There will be giveaways from SME
- Don't forget to bring towels!
Meeting location: Newport Beach Parking, 7004 Seashore Dr Newport Beach, CA. Walk to the beach straight out from Grant St
Note - This session is optional and non-CEU. Come meet us whenever you arrive! We're meeting at the beach to have some nerdy neuro fun until Rogue classes are finished and we can begin the afternoon session. Also, lunch will be at your own expense.
Hands-on Falls Training Course with Naomi Casiro, BSc (Kin), MPT. Afternoon Session and official start to DED! (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
**NOTE: Do NOT show up to Rogue before 12:30 pm (a full class schedule is going in the morning and they cannot accommodate guests. Please respect this!)
1:00 - 2:00 PM: Introduction and Review of Falls Training Paradigm
2:00 - 3:00 PM: Falls training lab with course participants practicing forward, backward
and sideways falls training progressions as the client and as the clinician
3:00 - 3:15 PM: Break
3:15 - 5:00 PM: Case studies and live demonstrations with older adult volunteers
5:00 - 5:15 PM: Wrap up and Q&A

Spend a full day in immersive, hands-on learning with our expert instructors: JJ Mowder-Tinney, PT, PhD, NCS; Briana Elson, MS, OTR/L, BCPR, CBIS; Jamie Haines, PT, DScPT, NCS, Chris McElderry, PT, DPT, NCS and guests.
8:30 - 9:00 AM: Registration and Breakfast
9:00 - 10:15 AM: Rotation 1 (split into 3 stations)
10:15 - 10:30 AM: Break
10:30 - 11:45 AM: Rotation 2 (split into 3 stations)
11:45 - 12:45 PM: Lunch

2:00 - 3:15 PM Participant 1: Assessment of movement, pre/post testing, intervention
3:15 - 3:30 PM: Break
3:30 - 4:45 PM: Participant 2: Assessment of movement, pre/post testing, intervention
4:45 - 5:00 PM: Discussion of Clients, Wrap up and Q&A
Station 1: Implementation of virtual reality for sensory organization testing and treatment of balance and vestibular impairments.
Station 2: Interventions with lower mobility clients, with emphasis on patient handling skills, assistive technology and environmental modifications.
Station 3: Dexterity, ADL, and mobility training for clients with ataxia.
Day 3: Sunday, October 19, 2025
Reactive and Cognitive-Motor Training in Neuro Rehab (4.0 Contact Hours)
End your Dendrite Expansion Day weekend by diving into the exciting world of reaction-based, high-intensity neuro-motor training incorporating research, motivation, and dual task. This course is perfect for therapists eager to bring dynamic, engaging, and measurable interventions into their balance, coordination, and functional mobility sessions.
8:30 - 8:45 AM: Breakfast and Registration
8:45 - 9:00 AM: Group activity utilizing various pieces of equipment for neural priming,
dual tasking and external cues
9:00 - 9:15 AM: Course introduction, benefits of cognitive motor training
9:15 - 10:30 AM: Selection of priority impairments and treatment strategies for commonly seen neurologic diagnoses, followed with intervention design and demonstration per diagnosis.
10:30 - 10:45 AM: Break
10:45 - 11:15 AM: Use of high and low tech rehab equipment, how to progress and/or modify interventions for cognitive and motor challenges.
11:15 - 11:45 AM: Break out groups: Diagnosis specific intervention design and practice
11:45 - 12:45 PM: Break out group presentations
12:50 - 1:00 PM: Q&A
