Emily has been a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since 2005, and is a Certified PWR!Moves Instructor (Parkinson’s-specific rehabilitation exercise). She was the owner and lead trainer for Recreation Fitness for 13 years, a fitness company based in Long Beach, CA specializing in working with clients who have chronic or neurologic conditions. She firmly believes that therapeutic exercise can and should be fun, and her playful approach to fitness helps her clients enjoy their workouts was much as the end results.
She was honored to be named the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council. She's a proud alumnus of the Leadership Long Beach Institute (Class of 2016), and was a 2019 honoree in Mayor Robert Garcia’s Long Beach Business Awards for her business leadership and commitment to the city.
She closed Recreation Fitness in 2021 to redirect her time and energy back to teaching and training clients, and to mentor other entrepreneurs as they start or grow their own businesses. A lifelong learner, she absolutely loves sharing the many lessons she's learned throughout her years in business, and helping others surprise themselves with what they can accomplish.
