The NeuroSpark Network is a new mentoring and learning model that fits YOUR life.  How does it do that?  It is an online mentorship program led by Dr. JJ Mowder-Tinney, PT, PhD that provides you video educational content, live calls, and additional resources to help physical therapists, occupational therapists, and PT and OT assistants improve clinical assessments and treatments for the neurologic population.  It provides exceptional mentoring and skills for clinical advancement that you can't get anywhere else.

Dr. Mowder has been teaching continuing education courses for physical and occupational therapists and therapist assistants for many years and is frustrated by the difficulty of implementing the knowledge gained from courses into the clinic easily. 

Getting a multitude of emails and follow up questions from students and therapists wanting more answers and more help, the idea to create a space for ongoing learning was born!  

Many therapists do not have access to excellent mentors and struggle with complex neuro patients, or they want to keep learning from the mentors they love.  If this is you, you belong here!

This network operates on a monthly schedule to provide you engaging content or an activity nearly each week. Calls occur live on Zoom (a free and easy-to-use video platform) and are recorded and stored in the member's portal in case you miss it. 

Most calls occur every other Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm PT / 8:30 pm ET, however, all calls are recorded if you can't make it live.

The learnings will be bite-sized to allow you to consume them, implement the next day at the clinic, and report back with any questions, wins, or challenges.

All content is delivered through a well-curated membership portal you can access at any time.  

Although Dr. Mowder has been an educator for many years and teaching continuing education courses in person for many year, this format is new and, therefore, adaptable to what works best for those who join the community! 

Our motto for this program - it must be FUN!

You will have approximately 2 hours of video calls scheduled per month.  Your estimated time commitment for the NeuroSpark Network is approximately 3-4 hours per month.

Here is an outline of what MAY BE included in the month:

• The calls will occur every other week, typically on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm PT / 8:30 pm ET
• Topics will be either new learning modules, member-submitted patient cases, or a member's live patient treatment session

PLUS it also includes:

• A fully curated members-only portal with recordings of all meetings (in case you can't make it live or want to re-watch), handouts, call links, schedule links - EVERYTHING all in one easy to access place.
• Resource reviews - Live or pre-recorded sessions discussing research articles, learning activities, community engagement, etc, as appropriate

• Community - a closed Facebook group with other passionate neuro professionals where ongoing discussion, mentorship, and connecting will occur

This educational network is designed to work for YOU!  If you cannot make calls live, all of them will be recorded and uploaded to your fully curated member library.  You can access at any time and track your progress easily.

We hope you can make some calls live as it will be of the most benefit to you growing as a clinician to get live mentoring.  

We understand this is not always possible and you are busy!  We've designed this for busy professionals in a way that is NOT overwhelming and allows you to actually process and implement what you are learning month by month so you can see your growth!

The NeuroSpark Network will only open 2-3x/year so that we can focus all of our attention on the members inside for as much of our time as possible.

The NeuroSpark Network is an excellent fit for dedicated:

• Physical therapists
• Occupational therapists

• Therapists with specialty certifications such as NCS, CSRS, CBIS, etc

The content and focus is entirely neuro, but you do NOT have to be a neuro therapist to join.  It is an excellent way for any therapist who wants more ideas, input, feedback, and learning opportunities to help neuro patients.

What will be covered in the NeuroSpark Network:

This is not an inclusive list... A large breadth and depth of neuro content will be covered with diagnoses such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, etc.  Topics such as gait, sit to stand, transfers, reactive balance, resistance training, aerobic training, etc.

What will NOT be covered in the NeuroSpark Network:

This network is NOT a good fit for therapists looking for

• Vestibular
• Concussion
• Dementia
• Cognitive re-training

Getting continuing education credit for your commitment is important!  We are approved for continuing education in CA and NY and all states with reciprocity for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.  It is your responsibility to understand what your state requires prior to enrolling if you are concerned. 

For states not covered under CA or NY and for occupational therapists or occupational therapist assistants, all materials will be easily accessible to you in the members portal to self-submit in your home state.  Should you require anything else, we will happily provide you with whatever you need!

As we have currently laid out the plan, there is an opportunity to earn up to 30 contact hours (or more) per year.  This may be subject to change based on feedback and input from members. 

You must complete all coursework to earn the full contact hours offered.  If you do not complete all coursework you will earn credit for what you do complete. 

Continuing education is calculated 4 months at a time.  Each 4-month bout will offer approximately 10 contact hours. Fully completing three 4-month bouts (a total of 12 months) will provide you with 30 contact hours for the year (or more because BONUSES).

Once the 4-month bout is complete, we will verify the applicable coursework you have completed and send you the certificate with the hours you've earned.

You will be notified of the schedule ahead of time with the deadline to complete the required coursework to earn your contact hours.

**Note** For states that limit the number of hours of recorded continuing education, we ARE able to make the distinction of hours attended LIVE and those watched recorded on your CEU certificate.  We track who attends live for each call and are happy to meet your state's requirement.  We ask that you please let us know if this is the case for you ahead of time.
