GET IT NOW!If you’re like us and have a passion for working with individuals with neurologic conditions, you know there are both rewards and challenges.
However, vestibular work can be downright complicated.
Other than a few cases, the need for specialized education is crucial to help people with imbalance and dizziness recover function.
It can feel daunting for both new and experienced practitioners because of the level of skill involved and the need to keep up to date with the latest techniques and research.
It’s amazing when you help a person with a balance dysfunction improve their gait, transitional movements, and overall function…
But what happens when they aren’t improving as much as you thought? Or when their impaired balance or dizziness causes them to fall while walking to the bathroom?
These are the times both you and your client can feel like giving up because you just don’t know what to do.
Listen…
We know most neuro therapists are not vestibular specialists.
Most neuro therapists see a variety of patients and haven’t done a deep dive into the labyrinth of vestibular specialization.
But did you know that the majority of aging adults who do not report dizziness actually do have vestibular dysfunction?
Even Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), which you may have been taught has dizziness as the primary symptom, can show up without dizziness.
You may not even realize the misperceptions you’re operating under about treating balance that are holding you back.
Plus, as all of your patients get older they’re at risk for undetected vestibular dysfunction.
You may wonder...
What are the best evidence-based treatment interventions for older adults with imbalance?
How do you know what to test in someone with imbalance even if they don’t report dizziness?
Where do you even begin?! And how do you know what in the world to prioritize when you could look at so many things?
If you’ve ever been frustrated by vestibular therapy, you’re going to LOVE what we have for you!
